What principle determines that series resistors are reduced before parallel resistors in simplifying a resistor circuit.
Our class worked an example of a complex circuit and the results are definitely different if you use parallel firs and then series, or parallel and parallel.
I cnnot find a principle or law that explains the series first, parallel second procedure
