Guess that makes sense, 150C is scorching hot. Quickly pulled that off the spec sheet thinking it was max operating temp.. So going for 80C...

80C = 35C + 8.5W( .27 + Rth_of_heatsink ) ... So I'm looking for a heatsink with an Rth of 5 C/W or lower.

 

Sounds about right. 17 W in something smaller than a fingernail is not a trivial problem. Billions of CPUs and GPUs have their own personal fan for a reason.
