Hello to all,

Here is a Small query about replacing a volume potentiometer on a LM1036N Tone control board.

Currently there is a 50K pot on it, which ain't working properly, i dont want to open the pot, clean it etc etc. I was simply thinking of replacing it with a 100K Pot, will that be OK? What problems am i looking at if i do so?

Wise Comments will be deeply appreciated.

Best Regards.

I think you should be OK doing that.

I've never used this part, but the data sheet does state "Four control inputs provide control of the bass, treble, balance and volume functions through application of DC voltages." So all you are doing is using a different value for the pot voltage divider, but the same voltage comes out, and the inputs seem fairly high impedance anyway.
