I don't have nte 48(darlington)NPN, but I do have nte 46(darlington)NPN. Even though it is a darlington, it does not have as high of gain as the nte48. Can I make a darlington out of 2 nte 46 darlingtons to increase the gain to the level of the nte48? How about (2) 2n3906's in series to replace a nte 232 darlington PNP?

Thanks

What are you trying to do? What voltage and current do you expect to be handling? Can a 2N3906 pass that current? What is the gain of a 3906 vice the gain of either Darlington?
