Hello,

I need some help please.

I dont have much knowledge in electronics, but i need to repair my old speakers HERCULES 2.1 40 XPS.
They are may be a decade old, but still sound great.

One connector from the Right speaker (Control) goes to the Sub PCB which goes to a main board inside the Sub.

My connector from the right speaker got recently broken. MINI DIN 9 PIN.
They are nothing on the internet about it, so i have to figure out by myself which wire goes where on the PCB.
The picture will explain better than me ^^.

Can Someone help me please ?

I'm a little confused about the problem. Can you specify a bit more about what the problem is? What's broken, is it in the picture?

Well thanks for the answer.

This is the pair of speaker :

The right one had is Mini DIN Connector (9 pin) broken (one pin got broken).
It used to connect here on the SUB : http://zupimages.net/up/16/15/z195.jpg
So i cut the MINI DIN cable to solder each wire (9 + ground) on the SUBWOOFER PCB.
BUT i don't know which wire goes to where...

The picture (http://s32.postimg.org/s1isl5l1h/Sans_titre.jpg)
is just me trying to figure out the correct order of each wires.

Is that more clear ?

Thanks.

Ah, the old "cut cable" problem. You'll have to use a multimeter to map which conductor was matched to which pin in the DIN connector. You can get a meter for $5 or less - even free if you can find a Harbor Freight coupon - and you can use it for many other chores, so just go ahead and get one.

ok thanks !

I kinda destroy the whole connector ahaha ^^'. I have one multimeter now, but then i hadn't, and i thought i could map it just by tear him apart.
I have also unsolder the female port from the sub PCB to see which pin goes where on the pcb.. But i still dont have the exact pattern from the cable...
No other way ?

Thanks for your time.

By looking inside the sub, you should have a way to map the DIN pin connectors to that jumper header, right? So IF you knew the functions of the incoming conductors (from the cable you cut the connector off of), you could map those conductors to the appropriate pin of the jumper. The problem is you have no way to identify those conductors. Right?

You might ask the manufacturer for help. You probably won't get anywhere, but it's worth a try.

With a little probing you should be able to identify the power pins for ground and Vcc. You can then limit probing to the other pins. You could use an audio amp to identify any line with an audio signal on it. You might use a capacitor in series with your probe to safely couple any audio signal while avoiding the risk of touching the power supply pins. If you move carefully and wrote down your test results as you go, I think you'll eventually be able to map out the conductors.
