I wouldn't solder anything to it, thickness builds up and the wipers will get bumped and bent.
I'd first try some 3M Copper tape with conductive adhesive, cut to fit the curve. you can get it in VERY thin thickness, about that of aluminum foil.
I've found that the 3M copper tape is something everybody should acquire at one point or another. Works for adding badly routed tracks or a ground plane on homemade PC Boards, replacing burnt tracks, adding a new pad if one melted off during a malfunction, etc.
It's not cheap, but a roll lasts for a very long time.
