remove capacitor from flyback

im in the designing stages of a tesla coil. i just had an awesome idea and wanted to get some professional input on this. i dont have the money for a highvoltage capacitor and from what ive researched, building your own can fail easily. so why not take the high voltage cap from a flyback transformer? they are rated for 30kv+ and i have several laying around. from what ive researched they are about the value i need too. i welcome any in put on this idea!

I think you read that wrong. The CRT IS the capacitance. You can use a CRT for a capacitor if you want to. It's just really strange!
