Relay pins labeling... Where does it make sense ?

What was the rationale to come up with the numbers 30, 85, 86, 87, 87A ?
Makes no sense at all instead of 'coil', C, NC, NO

I believe is some german thing from late sixties, but never knew the reason. Still carried on...:mad:

And schematics show other numbers as nodes...

Yes, same as per my attachment.

But if the '30' denotes battery plus, how is any german entity supposed to force/rule anyone to use a relay here or there, this or the other way ?

The DIN 72552 shows coil terminals being 87, 88 for the common pins, not 30.
And 87a, 87b ... for the contacts. Does not match with relays manufacturers.

This 72552 has to be an arbitrary decision after a heavy night at the bar.:(
