Rectifier Circuit

Hi,
I am taking an 18 V rms AC signal and feeding it into a full bridge rectifier with smoothing capacitor (10,000 uF). The DC output is used to power other circuits within a battery storage system I am creating. It should draw no more than 2 A. I wanted to ask if I should be concerned about an inrush current when I first power the circuit up, since the smoothing capacitor is so large?

Thanks,
Don

Your diodes will drop an increasing voltage depending on the current through them. This may not be enough to protect your windings, just fyi. If the diodes are smallish, they may be at more risk than the windings.
