Mainly to use the software to assist my study, to help me understand some basic circuit, and work on some fun project along the line.

What would you recommend on these use?

Hello,

It depends on what you want to simulate.
On this page of the EDUCYPEDIA , you will find several links to them:
http://educypedia.karadimov.info/electronics/easoftsim.htm

There are more pages to electronics software over there:
Analog
Antenna design
Audio
Audio tone generators
Digital
Loudspeaker design
Measurement
PCB design
RF Antenna design
RF software
Stripboard Layout Software

Multisim is very easy to use. PSpice has a bit of a learning curve and is less sophisticated in terms of parts that are available. Multisim helped me a lot with RC, RLC, and AC analysis. Digital as well.

Hi,

Tina TI. No limits in the size of the circuit, waweform viewer and also virtual instruments, more easy:

http://www.ti.com/tool/tina-ti

And you can use the Free Internet Course from Tina:

If you need a software for schematics and pcb desing: Target 3001! A total of 250 pin and a 3D viewer of the pcb:

Perhaps also a 2D Cad: DraftSight:

Al your need solves. Happy days.
