Mainly to use the software to assist my study, to help me understand some basic circuit, and work on some fun project along the line.

What would you recommend on these use?

Well since you are barley starting off, I would recommend multisim or pspice. Pspice has a free student version but I prefer multisim.

Multisim is very easy to use. PSpice has a bit of a learning curve and is less sophisticated in terms of parts that are available. Multisim helped me a lot with RC, RLC, and AC analysis. Digital as well.

    Hi,

Tina TI. No limits in the size of the circuit, waweform viewer and also virtual instruments, more easy:

    http://www.ti.com/tool/tina-ti

And you can use the Free Internet Course from Tina:

    http://www.tina.com/English/tina/course/course

If you need a software for schematics and pcb desing: Target 3001! A total of 250 pin and a 3D viewer of the pcb:

Perhaps also a 2D Cad: DraftSight:
