I've had this idea for a while now and want to finally get it started, well at least an idea to progress forward.

I would like to set up a method of accurately pin pointing the location of a person/ people in a room.

I thought about using infra-red array in a grid system so that when you break a x axis light beam and a y axis beam the computer knows were you are... only problem is furniture and moving objects could disrupt the array...

I also thought about using a transmitter/ receiver on the person in question, so when the transmitter sends a signal you calculate the time it takes to hit a sensor placed specificity in the room and thus determining the location..

Any other ideas or suggestions????

This idea will then allow me to develop like speaker and lights that can follow you around the room to give you maximum sound, light and cooling.

again this is just an idea but what do you guys think? :D

I like the wii remote idea, if you had like 3 all 'watching' the same person you could map their movements around the room... Thanks I'm going to defiantly look into that
