Hi guys,

I am using a two pack battery in my project. Each pack has its own SMBus communication wires using the Smart Battery protocol. I can communicate with each pack perfectly fine. I want to run the two battery packs in parallel.

My question is:

I tried to short Pack A Data line and Pack B Data line, Pack A Clock line and Pack B clock line for the SMBus protocol, and I can't get valid battery pack data. Is this even possible?

 

Simple answer is no.

You will need to employ a bit of logic and check each one individually.
