Hi,
Some years ago, we were visited at work by mice. We used a deflection transformer (7.5 kv out) to do the trick. We circled a center electrode with coax braid and put bait on the electrode. One mouse actually jumped 15 feet when he shorted across the electrodes.
It's a bit dangerous, but you don't have to empty the trap.
