I'm trying to fix the motor off of a Search Compressor for guy from work. It is missing one capacitor and the other is bad. I have seen in mtr book that there is a formula or ratio of run to start capacitors. I can't find in my book and wonder if someone with a better memory is here.
Second question is that instead of a typical spring loaded centrifugal switch
to turn off the start windings there is a spring loaded round disk on the shaft of the rotor. It presses against the contacts in the unenergized position. I dont' understand how this works since i don't see how rotation will cause this to move forward which is what it has to do to open the start circuit.
Thanks in advance
