hi every one... please take a look at this picture (( belong to proteos ))

i assembled this circuit and there is a problem whit it because the engine makes no move...!!

in the picture you can see the pins of l298.
i dont know why but the voltage of pins ( 2 & 14 ) and (3 & 13) is about 1.5 volt and this is not enough to run the engine.(( i used a multimeter to find this voltage))

how can i fix this...??
and how can i ensure that the L298 is not damaged..??

did you exceed any of the ratings? Are you using reverse voltage spike protection diodes across the motor coil outputs?

Look at this circuit and see what theyhave done different than you, perhaps that will give you some ideas on what to check.

 

You need a current sense resistor between pin 1 and pin 15.
