I currently building a up/down counter circuit utilizing a quadrature encoder. I having trouble integrating a D flip flop with the output of the hall effect sensors. From what I understand while the motor turns clockwise the D input will lead the C and while the motor goes counter clock wise the C will lead the D by 90 degrees. This relationship of the outputs gives a up count or a down count; for some reason I am having a hard finding any type of schematic which shows how it should be done. If anyone knows a solution I would greatly appreciate it.
