Q on LC filter resonance and impedence matching

    This is with reference to the LC low pass filter discussed in

    I have two questions:
    1. Why does L1-C1 behave in series resonance? There is another branch with L2 and RL hooked up between them. I know the SPICE output shows that but some logical explanation for why it behaves in that manner is useful

    2. The problem of impedance matching is again introduced with no explanation of how this conclusion came about.

    I am sure that there is solid math justifying all this but it would be nice to understand whats happening in terms of logic
