Hi ALL, I was told to use the PSMN017-30PL with a little project Im building, 1st I ordered the EL's, they did not have the mounting hole for the heatsink, then I ordered the correct PL's and have burnt both of those out, I have a few IRFZ34N, can I use those instead, I have looked at the data sheet for both and have:

PSMN017-30PL = 30V, (25c) 32A, 17 mΩ

IRFZ34N = = 55V, (25c) 29A, 0.040 Ω

Thas where I get lost, I think that the voltage and amps are ok for what I need but as for the rest of it that goes over my head. Question is can I use the IRFZ34N and whats the main difference between the 2

They will both do the job but the specs on the PSM are better at high switching speeds
