i am given a project in colledge to design an autonomous system which can detect and indicate a 2-d object like a equilateral triangle,scalne triange or a sqare and also 3-d object like a sphere. i have no idea from where to start can some onegive me directin in which i need to thick. im just a biggner in electronics

 

Do you need to tell the difference between a 2D and 3D object or just detect? Do you need to tell the shape of the object, particulary if 2D?


Have you considered something like IR or laser reflection?

This sounds like a very advanced project. Can you tell us more about the assignment? Are there limitations or suggestions as to how you are to do the sensing? Is the project to be built and demonstrated, or is it a planning exercise?
