This is a big subject. Use google to search and find information about each processor generation.

Dual Core compared to what? In PC's alone there are:

    Single processor
Single processor with Multiple Threads (Pentium 4 HT)
Single processor with separate CPU units, and multiple pipelines, but one thread (Cyrix)
Single processor with two CPU units with multiple pipeline/cache but common memory
    Dual processor (Xenon, Semperon)
Single processor, 4 cores, independent pipelines, independent and common cache (Phenom)
In super-computer applications, the list is starting to look similar, with over 400 of the Top 500 being Intel-64 bit or AMD-64 bit based.

As Mik3 stated, it is a HUGE topic. Threads, piplelines, and cache, each alone could be a complete presentation, and is needed to understand benefits of multi core/multi-cpu systems.

    >>Than'x for your reply..
As my college sir suggest me I think it will be hard for me to deal with such a big technology,so I have changed my topic to "blue eye technology" <<
