can anybody help me design an active high pass filter that satisfies the following requirements
· 1dB gain at pass band frequency of 10kHz
· -20dB gain at stopband frequency of 2kHz
· maximally flat response in pass band

am using multisim software and I want the right resistor and capacitor values.

Have you tried any of the free on-line downloadable software?

 

Your third bullet point "maximally flat in the passband" is only satisfied by a Butterworth filter. You should google "Sallen-Key" name after the guys that invented this form of active filter. Come back after making some effort.
