I'm not sure I understand the meaning of the sentence below

Semiconductors, Chapter 2, Page 30

The popular explanations of this “uncertainty principle” was that it was a measurement usually error caused by the process of measurement

You, have found an error. It should read: "error usually caused" in place of "usually error caused".
