Anyone here familar with PAT testing, regarding the HI-POT Test most of the standard tester have the AC HI-POT Test, what i need to know is how do i reliably determine whether i should do AC or DC HI-POT test? Also how frequently should i carry out the HI-POT test? And finally anyone have a decent online tutorial on PAT (safety, test area, absolute required tests e.t.c).

When I was in the Navy, we would use a hand-cranked "megger" on every cord & plug appliance on a regular basis. IRRC it was four times a year, but I could be misremembering the interval.

OSHA requires four times a year for tools on construction sites.
