Is there anyway of sending a PM to an individual?

Don't do that, as you have yours turned off - so they would not be able to reply to you.
To turn on PM's:
1) Click on the "User CP" link near the top left of the screen.
2) Below "Settings and Options", click on "Edit Options"
3) Under "Messaging & Notification", below "Private Messaging", check the box to the left of "Enable Private Messaging" by clicking on it.
Please do not PM individuals asking them for help. It may take several days to receive a reply to requests for help in the forums, as many people ask questions and few are available to help.
After you have enabled PMs', you can click on a members' name. If they have PMs and/or Email enabled, you will see a "Contact Info" tab. Click on it, and use the link to "Send a private message to <membername>"
