Hello everyone,
I want to design a circuit in which there is a led and and a connector(any type), my question is how can i make a circuit so that when i plug in a device in the connector, the led will switch on.

Thanks in advance,

Why not keep it simple and use a connector with 2 more pins? The plug can be wired with the two "extra" pins conected. When the plug is plugged in, it completes the circuit thus powering the led.

the connector is (IDC), the plug is coming from another board containing microcontroller, and the device, is a ctually a group of device(1xdc motor,2xlimit_sw, 1xsensor)

I'm not sure how about the voltage and the pin functions between board to board, but you can using +V or the signal to light up LEDs when the plug plugged in.

The easy way is using resistor and LED, or you want to using the bjt and control it from b through a resistor.
