Let me say from the start I am an absolute beginner.
I want to make a doorbell that after pressing a button plays a number of subsequent sounds in a melody. Namely - the beginning of Bach's toccata and fugue d-minor.

What would I need to make such a circuit?

If it is a song then how realistic would u like to play it. Audio is atleast 16bit. Melody can be 4 or 8 bit.
The higher the bit rate the realistic is the sound

Second is the button wired or wireless.

I want 9 sounds of varying frequency and length. You know, the opening of the toccata. I'm not sure about the bit rate... What is the difference? I would opt for the one easiest to make ;-)
I'm thinking wired, but if wireless is not that much more difficult then perhaps wireless.

Hi,

I have once made a circuit based on a 16F628A wich produced sound output from its PWM, fairly easy to do if you just want to press button, then tune out. I would suggest going that road if you are comfortable with PIC's

Good Luck

I've got an 8ohm loudspeaker now, it's not very good to be honest, it wails like a siren. But anyway, is there a relation between the emitted frequency of sound and RC?
