I can not for the life of me get a 7492IC to work. I just want to take a 5 volt square wave signal and divide it by 12. Everything in my circuit seems to be working just fine except for the divider. Can anyone tell me how to use this IC? I t has 5v power on pin 5, ground on pin 10, input on pin 14, pin 12 is wired to pin 1, and output on pin 8. Still uncertain what to do with the 2 resets on the chip but have tried leaving them open and tried grounding them but I can not get the chip to do anything. Do I need to limit the currents into and out of the chip? The output on the chip is only driving a transistor and already has a 100K resistor in line. Very frustrated and any help is appreciated.
