I designed my circuit using the ExpressPCB software. The dimensions are 3.8" x 2.5". The module transfers audio frequencies into LED light pulses. The sound and signal input is supplied by a male to male audio cable. This cable can be hooked up to you computer's sound card.

Basically it is an imitation of the Audiostrobe glasses: http://www.audiostrobe.com/englishX/frameset.php which transfers audio waves (music) into light to help you relax. They cost about $150 so I thought it would be fun to make them instead.

Components:

IC1 - LM567C tone decoder
IC2 - L7805T voltage regulator
R1 - 470 Ohm
R2 - 47 Ohm
R3 - 47 Ohm
C1 - 0.1uf
C2 - 0.005uf
C3 - 0.02uf
C4 - 0.01uf
C5 - 1uf
C6 - 100uf
C7 - 10uf

All three jacks are standard 3.5 mm audio jacks.

The top jack (Output) is connected to the LEDs. I am using the LED leads to connect to each other. Using a wire to connect the cathodes of the right side to the anodes of the left.

The middle jack (Input) is male to male audio cable running to a PC sound card or MP3 player.

The bottom jack (Phone) is where you plug in your headphone to listen to the music.

I also decided to add a SPDT switch unit which can switch between two outputs. In your opinion what is the best option for configuring the LEDs? How many can I use?

Also, do you think i should integrate R2 near the LEDs instead of on the board?
