I need to no what a switch would be called that is as described:

"I need a switch that opens and closes a circuit when depressed down. Note : it can not do this like a normal limit switch by being pushed and released back up. It needs to signal a timer to start every time it time it is pushed then just reset when it is released"

My timer needs a trigger powered for a split second to restart it.

Any help would be appreciated .... Thank You

Through the ramblings and mistake laden question I think what you are asking for is a "momentary" switch with either debouncing or delay on break timer functionality..

Looks like the OP wants:
Pushing and holding the switch button generates a brief "pulse" that starts the timer.
Releasing the switch button generates something that resets the timer.

I have no ideas without details...pulse length?, polarity?, voltage?, load?

Not my understanding. Could be wrong.

I think OP wants a one shot pulse that is not lengthened by holding button or releasing.

yes, I was wondering if there was a switch that would send a brief 1 or 2 second positive signal and I am using a 12v circuit.

"A one shot 12v pulse that is not lengthened by holding button or releasing"

I want to trigger a 6030 Altronix timer. I'm about to make a switch that will do what I need.

If it's ~24vdc, try a 2.2uf capacitor in series with the switch. From + to trigger.

That will differentiate the signal from the switch into a single pulse.

I have no idea of the input impedance of the trigger, but it's worth a shot.
