I will give it a try alec, I am learning on the fly so all options are open. Yourself and EM have been a great help in the learning process!

Be sure to locate C4 as close to the power pins (1 and 8) of the 555 as possible. I also recommend (as does the datasheet) a .01uF from pin 5 to ground.

Just an update; The clock works great. Shuts off after about 18½ minutes of no movement, returns to life when movement is detected. Stays on as long as movement is seen....Just what I was aiming for. Now just gotta finish up the wood/acrylic case and I can put it up on a shelf to be used/admired. THANKS FOR ALL YOUR HELP! Tim :D
