Hi all

I m looking on the net for the Pickit 2 clone hex file , but without success , the file is necessary for the clone to work and it installed on the device's own micro-controller .
BTW am using a pi18f4550 instead of the pic18f2550 .

If any one has a link for the hex file , please share .

 

It's on the Microchip site which I can't seem to get to at the moment. If you are using a different PIC I suspect that it will be very difficult to convert the HEX file and I don't think source code is available.

Too bad i cant work with the code on the 4550 .
is it possible to convert the hex into source code by any chance ?

PICkit II is open source, schematic and code. Seek and ye should find the source, which of course you would need to recompile for your specific target. (The Microchip site seems to be up at this moment; Sunday is their website update day.)

I wonder what tool you will use to inject the code into the '4550? My PICkit has a spot to insert a PICkit.

It's a classic chicken and the egg problem.

Right now having some issues finding the 680 uH bobbine .
Am also wandering if the 1N5818 diode can be safely replaced by a standart 1N4148 ??

I don't know about pickit 2 but you download pickit 3 from mplab.
Or are you saying the pickit2 micro is erased and you need the bootloader ?

Is it ever "safe" to replace one component with another with 1/10 of the rating?

Have you tried typing "pickit 2 source code" into a search engine?

 

Ah, source code is available, probably an easy job to make a few changes and compile for similar PIC.
