Hi All
I am planning to get a PICKit 3 for programming and debugging, but because I am completely new to PIC, I need some help on the PIC programming
1. for programming, do i just connect directly to the PIC's pins through a header?
2. for debugging, do I need an external oscillator? if yes, what frequency?do i need extra debugging circuits?

please help!

BTW, i am going to use a PIC24F64G 44pin

 

If you buy the PICkit3 with demo board package it comes with a series of tutorials.
