Currently i am working in repairing of the display board that used in an elevator . This board consist of some logic gates , regulators , 8-bit shift registers , timer ic and EEPROM/RAM based 8 bit PIC controller PIC16C54
I detected that this controller is not working but before i order the new controller can any body mention me that if this controller required programming or not because i have no programming tool.

 

It definitely need Programming.
If you are asking to that company,who made that elevator, for replacement then there will be no need of programming that controller.
