The only guides seem to be for fully serial or parallel circuits, not when there's a mix.


Anyone know how to draw the diagrams that have both V and I for both of these?

 

If you know how to do it for parallel elements and you know how to do it for series elements, then you know how to do it for these. The one on the left is the series combination of two components. One of those components just happens to be the parallel combination of two components. So find the phasor for the parallel combination of the resistor and the inductor. Now use that in your determination of the series combination of that and the capacitor.
