Does that circuit work with increasing resistor values? I've been looking at that too.
I have the plan of uv LEDs and my uv reactive cables that would light up. I could make a monitor like that and make a front plate for a cd rom bay.
My main issue is I don't know how to make this simple circuit. How will I accomplish a complex thing like that.

 

it is actually a really simple circuit that consists of 2 IC's and a few passive components.... I do have a circuit board designed for this particular circuit since I use it quite often when doing PC Mods.....

 

Got a link to more? When I figure more out I'd like to see how to do them. I'll order parts for the hdd light(basic version). And the audio part would be cool but I think that's also a bit above my head at this point. I have about 2000 LEDs to play with.
