Anyone who's been a radio amateur for any time, or who's worked with transmission lines knew the name Walt Maxwell, W2DU. Walt wrote a classic series of articles in QST on transmission lines and described the Conjugate Matching Theorem with elegance. He also wrote a classic book on the subject, "Reflections." Walt passed away July 3 at the age of 93.
Walt was a good friend and my primary inspiration to become a technical writer. He cut right through the accumulated balderdash when it came to transmission line theory and other related topics....a straight shooter right to the end.
He will be sorely missed.
RIP Walt.
