I have a Paradigm powered subwoofer and it makes a loud clicking noise when powered on, when I look at the power light indicator it is turning on a off quickly. I have removed the amp from the subwoofer and have begun to diagnose the issue and I have tracked it down to the power transformer, well that seems to be the component that it making the clicking noise. Would it be the transformer that is faulty or is it another conponent before it? Can I test the transformer while it is in the circut? The only markings on the transformer are "835-00318" "0312 CHINA 1"
I have no idea how I can track down what the actual rating for this transformer.
I had powered on the amp and tested the primary leads and I was getting flucating voltage ranging from 25V up to 80V When I measured the secondary leads I was getting voltage going out of range for my multimeter. Extremely high voltage.
