I bought it mainly for the small copper plates, but what other uses can I get out of this set?

 

If the wire is laminated, you can use it to wind your own coils / transformers. The silicone I assume is heatsink compound.

 

Yes, I was thinking of trying my hand at making small transformers, and other coils. (Simple ones).... I now have quite a few tubes of silicone compound, need to buy more ChipQuik.
