Hi guys...

I have been looking around the web for a "bundle" of an oscilloscope, a wave generator and a DC Power supply.

I have seen at least 5 brands that looks like good to me but I would like some other suggestions.

So far I've seen:
Tecktronix
Lecroy
Siglent
Fluke
Rigol

Let's say that I have like £975 to spend... What would you suggest????

Thanks

Hi,

1) For an oscilloscope, it depends the use you have in mind.
I suggest to visit this site http://www.afrotechmods.com with awesome video tutorials.
Pay attention to the brand and model the author has.
I have an analog scope Hitachi V-212 / 20MHz / 2-Channel, which works great for 30 years!

2) For the function/wave generator, why don´t build it with an ICL8038? That´s what I did and just works great. If you want, I can upload the schematics and photos.

3) For the DC power supply, it also depends what you want to do.
I build my own. Schematics also available.

Here is my 2 cents.

Analog O-scopes - Tektronix (best), HP (last)
Digital O-scopes - LeCroy (best), Tek (far second)
Signal generator - HP
Pulse Generator - HP
Power supply - HP (best), everyone else cheaper and just as good.
Bench Multimeter - HP
Handheld DVM - Cheap no name brands, Tek and HP last .

Thanks for all replies!!!

I'll try to make my mind.

I'm graduating in Electrotecnics Engineering and I might follow the 3rd branch of my graduation which is Electronics and Telecomunications.

So I might buy this stuff thinking about that!

PS:
btw, Mr. JoseBarbosa, I'm also from Portugal!

Buy the top brands (Tek, HP, etc.) USED, you can typically resell them for what you paid, it's then like borrowing them for free!

And you also enjoy the benefits of using real quality gear!

I really liked LeCroy but I think they are quite expensive for my actual needs which are academic needs. However I might need a better gear later after I have graduated!
