Thanks Bertus. I'm trying to design an oscillator but having some difficulties with feedback. I think i need some more understanding about the theory behind oscillators. This is a very interesting matter. Have a look at the picture. Can you tell which part of the oscillator is the

Amplfier
Wave shaping network
Positive feedback path.

Why does this circuit not oscillate?? I think it can oscillate. Can someone tell what i'm doing wrong here.
Why do you think that it can oscillate?

Here's what I think that you are trying to do:

This is a relaxation oscillator using a UJT (built using two transistors). It will oscillate at around 15 Hz.

Nice, but can you define the parts of the oscillator. I am studying oscillator theory, but find it a bit difficult to identify the different parts of an oscillator. Most oscillators consist of three basic parts:

1. An amplifier.
2. A wave shaping network.
3. A positive feedback path.

In the schematic Transistor Q1 is the amplifier. Q2 is for feedback (can you tell if it is positive or negative feedback??). C1 is the wave shaping network. What isthe role of C2 and C3 ??.
