I want use Optocoupler HCPL 2602 to switch ON/OFF 24V DC, 48mA relay in complementary to input relay 24V DC, 48mA ON/OFF at pin 2 - 4.

can any one help me in making circuit

You would need a transistor to switch the relay.
The opto will switch the Transistor.

What is the input signal to the opto?

Do you want to use this specific opto.
If so you would also need a 5V regulator or a 5.1V Zener.
A regulator is better cause it has to regulate 5V from 24V as this opto requires 5V supply to work.

If you use another opto, a simple one, you can do without a regulator.

yes with this opto, and also i use 5V DC separately for Vcc

Optocoupler HCPL 2602 pin no 2 is connected with +24Volts DC in series with 24V DC relay coil R1 and pin 4 is grounded to - 24V DC.
Pin 7 Ve & pin 8 Vcc is with regulated +5V DC, pin 5 is grounded, pin 6 is connected with another 24V DC relay R2 in series.
My requirement is when relay R1 is ON relay R2 should go OFF, similarly when R1 is OFF R2 should go ON

Kindly suggest how to get this circuit to work

Ur wiring is way wrong.
U cannot connect the relay is series with the opto Led.
It won't work.

I am asking you to tell me what is that you are going to drive the opto with. What is the control signal ?
Did you even looked at the data sheet ?

What do you mean by R1 and R2 should go off ?

An opto is used to isolate two circuits while one circuit is used to drive the opto with very low power and the other circuit to switch on or off depending on the input signal.

You need to draw ur diagram and show us. I need to see your diagram or post clearly the input signal and what is that you want to achieve
