the rate of reaction for the formation of coloured metal complex species can be measured by using a uv-vis spectrophotometer. ...may i know how can a operational amplifier with fabricated sensor replace the above instrument?

Hi,

The signal out of the op amp will only do part of the job. A spectrophotometer is a complete instrument. The sensor and op amp combo will give you a signal that will vary in some way according to the formation of your complex metal species (assuming the sensor is correctly chosen). It will be up to the researcher to take that signal and find a way to interpret it.

If the metal formation is a linear function, then tracking the change in voltage will be enough. Non-linearities will require some further signal processing.
