Hi to all. I hope someone can help me with this one. I need to do an open/short/load compensation. Does anyone has an experience in doing this one? Can someone explain to me how to do this?

That kind of thing needs to be done frequently with such test equipment as network analyzers and material analyzers, where the instrument sends out a signal and also reads the results.

One uses a calibrated open, a calibrated short, calibrated load, and a calibrated through fitting to make it relatively certain that the machine will read accurately.

Most such instruments of recent manufacture have a calibrate routine you go through, and the steps are displayed on-screen to walk you through them. A number of older machines you had to select what you were going to calibrate.
