Open Motor Indicator

Hi everyone,
I thought this would be an easy one, but not so much.
I have a simple 12 VDC series circuit.
I have the source going into a SPST switch.
Close the switch and it flows to a small motor and then to ground.
When the motor fails, it will fail by opening.
What I want to do is to have a light which will light when the motor opens but not when the motor is operating.
In other words, if everything is good, there is no indicator, and when it breaks, there is an indicator.
If anyone has any ideas I would love to hear them.
Thanks,
Doug

you can start with this circuit for a blown fuse indicator.... I think it is the same principal. just remove the fuse, and place D1 on the other side of the load.. not sure if it will work for you, I just found it with google....
