i m using mplab 8.73a to work with the pic dev kit. everything goes alright but there is no response from the usb port.

when i plug the usb to my pc, no response, nothing pop up in my pc, my pc cant detect the device and the mplab shows ICD0019 error.

i installed the usb driver already. my pc just cant detect the device. what can i do?

 

I do not know what kit you have. Can you tell us? Perhaps it has some settings that enables you to select using external power or USB. If it is set to external power it may not use power from the USB. And with no power it will be "dead"
