Hello,

A "power on reset" is basicaly a RC nertwork on the reset lines of the counter.
When powering on the circuit, the RC network delays the power to the reset.
Take a look at the datasheets of some counter-chips wich pin is the reset.

these counters have high input impedance, very versatile. have clearand set inputs. One doesn't design counters anymore.
