i am working on a project and i need a usb i/o board. i need one that has an external power supply connection, it needs to have at least 4 digital inputs, and 4 digital out puts or 4 on board relays. i need to be able to send simple code to it through viusal studio. i was looking at a cana kit uk1104

but my concerns are price and availability. i cant find anyone who has it in stock

    i was looking at

    with this

but the i/o board does not have external power supply capabilities.

my power supply will need to power the i/o board, the 5 volt relays, and 4 digital shock sensors.

any other suggestions i should be looking at

How much do you know about C?

    How much about electronics?

If you can write a Visual Studio program, that doesn't mean you can step to a uC, though any programming background makes the task easier.

What frequency do you need to sample the sensors at?

Do you have facilities for making your own board?

i had purchased 1 off ebay through ramsey electronics. the day it was supposed to show up in the mail they emailed me and said they didnt have them in stock. 2 weeks later they still didnt have them. i dont know much about programming, i am just trying to learn. i will figure this out for my project, by trying. reading. asking questions.
