Hey all,

I am working on a project that requires a switch that can be set to eight different settings, and can remain on that setting once set. A small knob that one can turn is what I am imagining. I have been on Jameco and Digikey's websites and have searched the switches and knobs but didn't find what I was looking for. I know there must be some industry standard name for the part I am thinking of and I am hoping someone can clue me in. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

 

A DIP switch is what I was looking for, and just found. Thanks for looking, and if you have any other ideas on something that would be similar I'd appreciate your thoughts.

 

You might also consider a rotary switch. They are available in a wide variety of configurations.
