I want to do one of those retro projects of converting an old style home phone into a cell phone. Unfortunately theres a dearth of tutorials or information. To start I'll need to settle on a cell phone model thats as simple as possible that I can order in large quantities and rip apart as needed
I'm looking for a cell phone
dirt cheap as possible, widely available and popular,
and as simple as possible to learn modify and disassemble for this purpose
preferably one I can just buy and then activate to test at my leisure with minimal hassles and expense.
preferably with disassembly guides and/ or videos
preferably capable of basic functionality txt pics etc
takes sim cards so people will be able to swap for their phones.
any suggestions? any places that dare I say give out used cells for dirt cheap or free?
